Waking up and fueling your body by hydrating & packing in some nutrients is the best way to start your day.
Here’s how I do it.
After an overnight intermittent fast (around 14 hours), my morning ritual always starts with a glass of warm lemon water. I sip on this while preparing lunches for my three boys. Not only does this help hydrate my body, but it also wakes up my digestive system and supports gentle detoxification. Lemons are a wonderful addition to your daily routine as they are rich in Vitamin C and packed with antioxidants.
Breakfast usually happens around 8am, and most mornings I enjoy a smoothie. Mornings can be hectic, so starting the day with a nutrient-rich, hydrating smoothie is perfect. It provides all-around goodness that your body absorbs easily, without needing much energy for digestion. Less energy used for digestion means less stress on the body! Smoothies are also a fantastic way to ‘drink’ breakfast on the go.
One of my favorites is the Mocha Matcha Smoothie. With the rich flavors of organic coffee, cocoa, and a hint of matcha, combined with full-fat coconut milk and vanilla protein, it not only tastes indulgent but also helps boost energy and focus. Top it with coconut cream for an extra creamy treat!

Ingredients
350ml freshly brewed organic coffee, hot
½c full fat coconut milk
4T cocoa powder
1/2tsp Organic Matcha powder
Vanilla protein powder
5-10 drops stevia (or to taste)
coconut cream - unsweetened
Method
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Pour into a mug and top with coconut cream, if desired. For children, substitute berries and almond milk for the coffee.
